Set up your wallet

To use BarkSwap you need a self-custody wallet — an app that holds your tokens and signs transactions. If you've used MetaMask, Rabby, or any browser wallet before, you already have what you need.

BarkSwap runs on a testnet

Everything below is on the DogeOS Chikyū Testnet. The DOGE and tokens you use here are free and have no real value — perfect for learning without risk.

1. Get a wallet

If you don't have one yet, install a browser wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. Create a new wallet and back up your recovery phrase somewhere safe and offline. Anyone with that phrase controls your funds — BarkSwap, and no one else, will ever ask you for it.

2. Add the DogeOS network

BarkSwap lives on a specific network, so your wallet needs to know how to reach it. The easiest way: open barkswap.fi, click Connect, and approve the prompt to add and switch to the network.

Prefer to add it by hand? Use these details:

FieldValue
Network nameDogeOS Chikyū Testnet
Chain ID6281971
Currency symbolDOGE
RPC URLhttps://rpc.testnet.dogeos.com
Block explorerhttps://blockscout.testnet.dogeos.com
What's a block explorer?

A block explorer (here, Blockscout) is a public website where you can look up any transaction, wallet, or token on the network. After you make a swap, you can paste the transaction into the explorer to see exactly what happened.

3. Get testnet DOGE

DOGE is the network's native coin — you need a little to pay gas (the small fee every transaction costs). Because this is a testnet, you can get DOGE for free from the DogeOS faucet.

  • Open the DogeOS testnet faucet.
  • Paste in your wallet address (copy it from your wallet).
  • Request testnet DOGE — it arrives in your wallet within a minute or two.

4. Connect to BarkSwap

Go to barkswap.fi and click Connect in the top-right. Pick your wallet, approve the connection, and make sure it's set to the DogeOS Chikyū Testnet (the app shows the network; switch if prompted).

5. Get test tokens (including BARK)

The faucet only hands out DOGE. To get the other tokens — including BARK, which you'll need to lock and voteswap some of your DOGE for them on BarkSwap itself:

  • Go to Swap in the app.
  • Pay with DOGE and choose the token you want — e.g. BARK — in the receive box.
  • Confirm the swap. The tokens land in your wallet, ready to provide liquidity or lock.
Getting BARK to test ve(3,3)

There's no separate BARK faucet — BARK lives in the pools. Just swap DOGE → BARK on the Swap screen to get enough to lock into a veNFT and start voting.

That's it — you're ready. Next up: your first swap.

Stay safe
  • BarkSwap is non-custodial: you hold your keys, so double-check what you sign.
  • Only ever reach the app via the official URL. Bookmark it.
  • No one from BarkSwap will DM you first or ask for your recovery phrase.
